Maternity Leave

I have some exciting news! My husband and I are expecting a little baby (a girl) this Summer 2022! I am overjoyed to finally share the news with my practice. Having worked with so many amazing moms, I am delighted to also be going through this experience myself. I am so inspired by you all!

Transitioning into motherhood when you're a solo business owner is a tricky endeavor! I have wanted to share the news for so long but have hesitated while I created a plan for how I would continue to care for patients while I am on maternity leave.

So what's the plan for maternity leave?

  • I have temporarily suspended new patient visits and free discovery calls for the time being in order to focus on existing patients only.

  • I will be out of the office starting July 11, 2022.

  • My plan is to remain on maternity leave for around 3 months (until mid to late October). If plans change, I will, of course, let you know.

  • While I am out of the office my virtual assistant will continue to answer the phone and attend to basic needs, forwarding anything more urgent directly to me.

  • Lab orders and medication refills for existing patients will be taken care of well in advance of my leave. Understand that refilling medications is always most efficiently handled by calling your pharmacy who will contact me. For other questions/issues on these topics call the office or send a message to me on charm.

  • I will be answering messages and attending to patient business at least once per week starting September 1. Between mid-July and September 1, understand communication with me will probably be spotty and slow.

  • My intention with my plan is to give myself plenty of time to start the transition into my new role, take care of myself and our new daughter while also not losing track of you!

  • Please understand that reality may differ from this plan, but I will do my best!

  • For patients wishing to work with an alternative provider in my absence, I am happy to refer to Dr. Erin Carner and Dr. Kate Miyagi. I trust both of these providers.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am excited and nervous for this new chapter, but I have received so much amazing support from my patients already.... so, thank you all!
